Company history

1970-1979
1973Mikroponent AB is founded by five founders of Värnamo Graphic AB.
1974CEO Leif Persson becomes the sole owner of the company. The first "real" client, Facit in Åtvidaberg with a component for newly developed calculator.
1979Acquisition of and move to new premises in central Värnamo.

1980-1989

1984The company was sold to the newly formed holding company, Smålandsinvest AB.
1986The group Smålandsinvest AB including Mikroponent was sold in its entirety to Finnveden Invest AB, Värnamo.
1987Gunnar Liljeqvist takes over as new CEO.
1987-89Large equipment investments are made during these years, for improved technology and greater capacity.

1990-1999

1990A milestone for the company as sales of 10MSEK is reached.
1998A brand new product, etched antenna pattern with or without self-adhesive, so called metal labels, is launched and quickly becomes a sales success.
1999Finnveden sells parts of its business to that of Procuritas newly formed investment company Axenti AB.

2000-2010
2000Large investments in the processing of metal labels, a so-called top punch line.
2002Jörgen Lindqvist appointed as new CEO.
2002-07Years of very strong growth, especially in the mobile phone antenna manufacturing. Large investments in environmental measures and machines for increased processing and greater capacity.
2005Heavy fire in parts of the production places great demands on the company and its employees to handle deliveries and restoration of production. A task that is successfully handled with only a few days of downtime.
2005Mikroponent sold in its entirety to private investors, including its CEO Jörgen Lindqvist.

2010-
2010Mikroponent focuses on the production and processing of sheet metal components with etching as continued core competence. Offering besides etching also electroforming to meet customer needs of high precision manufacturing.
2011Presence in France, partly resulting in a prestigious order for the particle accelerator at CERN.
2013Mikroponent celebrates 40 years and continues to develop now with the offering of welding and laser cutting.
